Breaking Sins Bondage

We that are now in Christ are no longer slaves to sin.
We are free from the power of sin.

So then why do we still at times succumb to the power of sin and fall?

It has a lot to do with our minds and faith in the Christ power that has set us free.

When training elephants in India, the trainer would put a chain on the elephants leg and tie him to a big stake.

After a while the trainer would remove the chain from the elephants leg but the elephant remembering the chain around its leg assumed the chain was still there and never wondered far from the pull of the illusionary chain.

I think with sin its also a mental issue. An illusion that makes us think we are still bounded to it.

We are really free now but the question is do we believe it?
Do we have faith that the sin no longer binds us?

Here is where the battles in our head begins.
We have to fight ourselves more than ever to believe in the power of Christ, that the bondage to sin is broken. But if we grew up having had that bondage on our leg for years then it’s going to be difficult to believe it is finally gone.

Yes, the power of Christ far surpasses sin but if you don’t believe this to be true then you short circuit the pathway of his power reaching you.

It has more to do with you receiving his power than the power level of his power.

So even if it seems that the human’s mind and self will is more powerful than Gods power remember that its not but you have to reprogram your mind to understand that fact not with you mind but with your heart.

Romans 6:6-7 AMP We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. For the person who has died [with Christ] has been freed from [the power of] sin.
